SCENES FROM OUR HOMESCHOOL/ROADSCHOOL JOURNEY

LaNissir's describes her homeschool journey as reluctant to leader. LaNissir and her husband, Lorenzo, homeschool 7 children with 2 who have graduated to attend college. LaNissir was recently featured on NBC News and Fox News with her homeschooling story and tips. She is a nationwide Educational Consultant and a leader in the homeschool community.

The James Family began their homeschooling journey when they decided to pull their three daughters from a private school. Their first homeschool experience began with a 5th grader, 1st grader, and a preschooler. The first year of homeschooling can be described as a year of reluctant homeschooling.

After coming from spending thousands of dollars on private education, LaNissir’s husband had one question - “Is homeschooling legal?" Their family went from four daily trips back and forth to school with drop-off, pick-up, and half-day preschool to quality family time while enjoying individualized education for their children.

We are excited to officially be ROADSCHOOLERS! We purchased a RV (33ft class C)to take our schooling on the road. We've traveled to 15 states so far and we're excited to travel to many more states! Be sure to keep checking our gallery and YouTube page to see the journey.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

~ Proverbs 22:6

Thanks to the work at the Homeschool Legal Defense Association (HSLDA), LaNissir learned the homeschool law in her state. This was an important reassurance in her journey especially because her husband worked in law enforcement.

As we fast forward to almost 15 years later, the countless life lessons, family time and experiences has fueled LaNissir’s passion in homeschooling.

You can find the James family homeschooling in various settings to inspire learning. She loves cooperative education, classical education, outdoor schooling and also the beauty of learning while relaxing on the couch.

“I didn’t want to create school at home. I want to share my love for learning with my kids so that they too would become life-long learners”

LaNissir supports many other homeschool families as a Director of a home-education program in her state. She provides social, spiritual, academic, and supervisory support for families during the academic school year. She leads a seasoned homeschool program at Calvary Gospel Home Educators that is committed to supporting the entire homeschool experience from kindergarten to college. Calvary Gospel Home Educators enjoys supporting homeschool families with academic oversight and counseling, a classical tutorial program and cooperative educational classes. Many of the students that LaNissir mentors go on to college, trade school or careers.

“The joy of helping a family feel confident that they can homeschool is priceless.”
